Turns:
A class designed to assist dancers with placement and the mechanics of turns.
Students will concentrate on the four basic trouble areas which will provide
them the skill to execute turns more consistently. Class consists of turns in
the center such as pirouttes, and turns across the floor such as chaine. A short
combination is given at the end of class. Must have Jazz 1 experience to attend.
JAZZ 1:
This class is for those who know the very basics in jazz dance such as
pas de bourrees, ball changes and chasses. Jazz 1 focuses on putting these basic
steps together in an interesting way while focusing on placement within the step
and remembering the combinations.
JAZZ 2:
At the jazz 2 level more style and isolated movement is introduced.
All aspects are a bit more challenging. Combinations vary in style providing
the dancer with the versatility needed to perform "Show Jazz".
JAZZ 3:
At the jazz 3 level you are expected to have a bit more technical
training. Although still a combination of styles, you will more likely to be
asked to perform lyric jazz.
